Focus to be given on Moral education along with Qualitative education:
The Governor said that technical knowledge and its use was the need of the hour, however, was more important to maintain personal relations with sensitivity. It was up to the teachers to emphasize morality along with qualitative education to the students so as to build a great society in line with Indian culture and this was the philosophy of former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
Teachers were the source and instrumentalists of knowledge, who should strive to impart moral values and establish qualitative education in line with Indian culture. He said the teachers who were awarded today have definitely worked towards qualitative education and they deserve appreciation. “A teacher can do the work of personality development and self-confidence in the student. This self-confidence paves the way to success in life. Dr. Radhakrishnan taught morality lessons and he believed that discipline comes from morality.
Educational System should focus on overall personality Development:
CM Jai Ram Thakur Ji said that education plays an important role to educate people about the rights and duties besides empowering the people to understand the working of society. He said that education should enable the youth to improve the working of society. The purpose of education was not just to help students in acquiring degrees and obtain jobs, but it should develop a spirit of inquiry and rational thinking in the youth so as to enable them to understand the society and change it wherever it is found lacking.

The Chief Minister announced to give Rs. 31,000 each to the students of RKMV and Portmore school for promotion of cultural activities, who presented a colorful cultural program on this occasion.
Principal Secretary, Education K.K.Pant briefed out various activities and achievements of the education department.
